omg wtf

Herein lies profanity...

Yesterday I came across this article about an invasive species of hornet known as Asian giant hornets, also called murder hornets. After reading the article I realize they're called murder hornets because of the way kill honey bees; however, as someone who is quite allegic to bee stings and other insect venoms (including hornets) the thing that kept running through my mind was "fucking MURDER hornets?!" After everything that's been going on so far this year, now we have fucking MURDER hornets?! I'm already allergic to regular hornets, now there are MURDER hornets! This is 2020--everything wants to kill us now.

And these things are huge! About 2 inches long! If a damn 2-inch long hornet comes at me, I'm going die of a heart attack anyway, because it would scare the shit out of me. Goddamn MURDER hornets! Anything with "murder" in the name is not going to be fun.

And don't get me started on the buzzing those things must make. I really hate hearing something like that buzzing and not seeing it. It makes me paranoid as hell. That's when I get a really great cardio workout. Trying to look in every direction at once, while trying to put as much distance as possible between me and the buzzing, which I can't really figure out until I spot the fucker.

I've always been phobic about flying stinging things. Then I got stung by one when I was 22, and found very quickly I was allergic. Fortunately, I was with someone who acted quickly and got me emergency medical help. Even so, by the time I got medical help I was having some trouble breathing. And that was just a tiny little bee. A really little one. Imagine a fucking MURDER hornet coming after my ass!

I don't like 2020 so far. Can I get a refund? Please?

MURDER hornets?! FUCK!

Best and Worst...

To the best and the worst haircut I've ever had! It's the worst because I cut it myself. *LOL*

But it's the best because of the way it's made me feel! It's not like anyone's going to see me anyway, and my hair was getting way too long and getting in my way. I'm so glad I cut it. Sometime after this covid-19 is beaten, I'll get a proper haircut. In the meantime, I feel a lot better. :D

This is not something I'm good at, so I decided to force myself to do this one.

I think I write decent Original Characters in my fanfic. At least I've been told that I do. I enjoy the process of creating them, with complete backstories and personalities and know things about them that never make it into the fics they appear in, simply because I have to know them that well to write them. And some of my favorite stories have OC's in them.

Anyone who knows me knows my main fandoms are X-Files and SG-1.

My most popular fic, based on AO3 stats is a Devil Wears Prada story though, How to Become a DragonMaster.

My most popular X-Files fics are Weak in the Knees (series) and Dana's Malakim. Both of these have an OFC love interest for Scully. I consider Weak in the Knees my favorite and the best, not in writing quality since it was the first fanfic I ever posted, but in story concept. Dana/Jess will always hold a special place in my heart.

As for SG-1, Solitudes is my most popular (hits, kudos and bookmarks), and was one of the very first Sam/Janet fics I wrote. But my favorite Sam/Janet stories are a crack!fic titled Soylent Blue, and the angsty (nice ending) Grief's Tragedy. And because I like writing original characters, I wrote a Heroes fixit with a Janet/OFC storyline that I really like and enjoyed titled The Prophecy (series).

That's all the self-promotion I can handle. *lol*

In your own space, make a list — anything between one and ten things is a sweet spot, but don't feel constrained by that! - of things that you wish existed in fandom or elsewhere, or that you'd like someone to make for you. Are you dying for podfic of your writing? Do you need icons for a character that doesn't get much fanart? Is there a story you want to read? Are you looking for new canons to get into? Would you like a collaborator for a project?
Maybe you want more people to talk about a certain fandom with, or you'd love to trade ficlets with somebody over email. Maybe you're new to a fandom and would like some recs to start reading, or communities to join. This is the time to ask!

My Wish List is very short and simple:

I want new SG-1 Sam/Janet stories to read! and

I want new Scullyslash stories to read!

Otherwise I'm stuck just with what I write. *lol*

NaNo

Well, here I am once again, pointing out the fact that I haven't posted in quite a while. And saying that I want to do better. Such is life. Oh, well. *lol*

Anyway, I am making this little post to commemorate the fact that last night I hit my goal for NaNoWriMo. As of last night I'd written 50,090 words so far this month! NaNo was more fun this year than it has been any other year that I've participated in the past. I believe that's because this year I wrote just for me. I chose to write a story that I have no intention of posting, just something for my personal enjoyment. Which has meant I haven't had to worry if people will think a character has acted out of character in a particular scene, or if someone will thing a scene is funny or not, or if I make a continuity error or not. I've been able to just sit down and write, whatever I want, whatever makes me smile.

And writing this way has actually reignited my love for writing. It also sparked a couple of idea for stories I may write and post. But if nothing else, I know that if I never post another fanfic or original story, I will never stop writing. And that I think, is the best outcome of any NaNo.

And yes, I'm going to keep the NaNo theme for a little while. *LOL*

YAY!

Well, I finally did it. I completed my double fluff bingo! The tenth and final story is completed and in the hands of my beta. As soon as I get it back I'll get it posted. And all ten fics were Janet/Kris fics. I have no idea why the Muse wanted to focus so much on this pairing, but have to admit it's been fun.
