I look over my journal and I realize how inactive I've been this year. I didn't even post a single fanfic this calendar year. And I missed some of the usual icon offerings... just as I will again with Christmas.
Some of the inactivity was due to an eye injury I had which really limited the time I could spend on the computer. But that doesn't explain all of it. My muse has been MIA for some time. Which is why I was so pleased to be able to complete my NaNo novel (with all due credit for the love and support
Speaking of my girl. I spent a wonderful five weeks with her during November and the first week of December. And I can't wait to go back... despite the cold weather. *lol* The only complaint I have is that it went by too fast; but then no matter how long I stayed, it would always go by too fast. That's just the nature of the beast.
Well, maybe I do have a second complaint. I got home on Saturday the 6th (at night). On Sunday (7th) I started feeling off. By Monday I couldn't keep anything down, not even water. Same thing Tuesday. Wednesday I went to doctor since nothing had changed. I apparently picked up a virus (probably on the plane ride home *grrr*). The doctor prescribe Phenergan to help with the nausea. I've been on liquids all week, and finally had a meal, such as it was, of cup-a-noodles Friday. Saturday I managed a bowl of yakisoba noodles (made with rice and much lighter than regular pasta). Sunday I managed 2 servings but I'm still in pretty rough shape. I have no idea how long it's going to take me to fully recover from this virus, but I'll be curious to see how much weight I've lost because of it. *lol*
Anyway, despite my current bout w/a stomach virus, the injured eye I had to deal with, and my complete lack of fanfic writing this year, 2014 has actually been a good year overall. When it comes to the big picture, I don't really have any regrets and there's a lot I'm happy about. A large portion of which is due to my very wonderful girlfriend,
